Data Center – Category 8.1 Copper Solutions

Category 8.1 is the standard designed to support data rates of up to 40 Gbps over copper cabling, offering a frequency bandwidth of 2,000 MHz, and represents a cost-effective alternative to fibre optics for high-speed connections in data centres.

For distances exceeding 30 metres, typical of Middle of Row (MoR) or End of Row (EoR) configurations, fibre optics remains the technology of choice.

  • Category 8.1 cable

Category 8.1 S/FTP cable, shielded with aluminium tape on individual pairs plus tinned copper braiding on the cable assembly, with a fire-retardant, low-smoke, zero-halogen sheath that does not propagate flames or fire, tested up to 2 GHz. Suitable for the installation of Class I transmission channels.

  • Category 8.1 RJ45 socket

Category 8.1 RJ45 Easy Crimp Compact shielded connector for high-density installation solutions, designed for Class I transmission channels, suitable for PoE/PoE+/PoE++.

  • RJ45 Channel plug, Category 8.1

Category 8.1 CCS RJ45 Easy Crimp Compact plug for terminating cables with solid and stranded conductors; ensures Class I (Cat. 8.1) performance is maintained on transmission links up to 30 metres in length. Suitable for PoE/PoE+/PoE++ applications.

  • High-density patch panel

High-density CCS patch panels with 24 or 48 ports, available in linear (½U or 1U) or angled configurations, compatible with standard Keystone shielded Easy Crimp Compact RJ45 sockets.
